| MinLand Ties Up with USM-CENCOM
in Kabacan
to Enhance Community
Service Delivery
Kidapawan City - Last August 1, 2005 MinLand met with the University of Southern Mindanao - College of Engineering and Computing (CENCOM) Dean, Department Heads, other Faculty Members, and some student leaders to discuss possible complementation and collaboration that enhances community service delivery.
The framework and gains of MinLand Post Conflict Community Development program were presented through film.
CENCOM learns about MinLand’s communities in Central Mindanao and its activities.
One of MinLand’s thrusts to its communities is capacity building --- helping the community residents to eventually be able to stand on their own.
Community projects that the community residents themselves planned and worked out with minimal fund such as the construction of water system, construction of multi-purpose building using Compressed Earth Blocks (CEB), construction of toilets and the like are the engagements of the communities at present.
Technical know-how’s are very much needed in the endeavor and so MinLand sees the need of experts in this field to strengthen and make the communities’ effort more productive and the project to become efficient.
CENCOM’s initial response was to come up with a list of what they can offer --- their field of expertise that would be of help to the communities.
Memorandum of Agreement that would soon be made formally ties MinLand and CENCOM.(MinLand)
