share best practices
Kidapawan City - Barangay officials including its People’s Organization representatives from 21 barangays in Central Mindanao laid out plans for the coming year and paraded their very own barangay best practices during the 9th LRC Conference on November 9-11, 2005 at USM Hostel, Kabacan, Cotabato.
Dr. Nicolas Turnos, USM Office of Student Affairs (OSA) Director inspired the 32 participants during the opening program. Participants were also able to gain new insights and essential knowledge on ethical leadership, corporate governance and environmental governance from Prof. Marcos Monderin of the USM Social Action Center for Community Development and Engr. Willie Jones Saliling of CENCOM. The vital inputs from the university professors inspired the LRC partners to bring back their learnings to their barangays for everyone to be aware of. Participants further said that the inputs has provided them handles in transparent and accountable governance as the speakers delivered straightforward yet rich presentations.
Eight (8) barangay captains from the 15 new LRC Network members were also welcomed to the partnership and were able to get acquainted with other members.
The LRC Network believes that in sharing and learning from each other through leader-to-leader and people to people exchanges, social and personal growths are achieved making them good, if not better, leaders. (MinLand/jmo)
