Festival on Showcasing POs Best Practices slated this December

Kidapawan City - After compiling a considerably abundant learning experiences of People's Organizations (POs) in doing development work, the Invisible Link - Cluster 1 pursued to continue the productive exchanges and camaraderie among development stakeholders by conducting a succeeding PO Festival on December 4 - 6, 2007 at the Guadalupe Formation Center, Balindog, Kidapawan City.

The Invisible Link is an informal alliance of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) working in conflict affected areas in Mindanao striving to maximize sharing of information, experiences, sound practices, technologies and others. All of which are aimed towards scaling up of people's initiatives that have been proven effective in overcoming socioeconomic adversities.

The Cluster 1 of the Invisible Link is composed of 10 CSOs [Mindanao Land Foundation, Inc. (MinLand), Balay Rehabilitation Center, Inc. (BALAY), Catholic Relief Services (CRS), Immaculate Conception Parish - Integrated Rehabilitation Program (ICP -IRP), Community and Family Services Incorporated (CFSI), Integrated Mindanaon Association for Natives (IMAN), Mindanao Baptist Rural Life Center (MBRLC), Nasavakan Tarigunay't Bukidnon du't Kalindaan Federation (NATABUKFed), Philippine Rural Reconstruction Movement (PRRM), and Technical Assistance Center for the Development of Rural and Urban Poor (TACDRUP).

The festival will feature 10 People's Organizations from the Province of Bukidnon, Maguindanao and North Cotabato who will be showcasing their best practices in Advocacy, Peace Building, Women, Environment, Community Infrastructure, Health, Economic and Livelihood, Youth and Children and the like towards peace and development. It will be participated by 250 representatives from Government Organizations and Agencies, funding agencies, Media, the Academe and Civil Society Organizations. (MinLand)
