LEAP to Save a Child's Future
Date Posted: May 22, 2008 (Thursday)

The Learner Education Assistance Program (LEAP) is a pilot program intended for the young and intelligent but financially challenged school children earnestly wanting to finish elementary and high school education and eventually, earn a college degree.

LEAP is an initiative primarily spurred by Ms. Pauleen Ramos-Dyer, a Filipina now residing in Jacksonville, Florida, USA who believes that good education plays a pivotal role in alleviating poverty.

Beneficiaries of this special program are children of families whose income are below the poverty line but are performing well academically and are determined to finish their education. At the initial stage of this program, educational assistance will be limited to students within North Cotabato. The financial assistance covers the enrollment, books, allowances, and school miscellaneous fees for the whole year.

The special program will have a soft launch is on June 2008 for school year 2008-2009.  Ms. Dyer will be sponsoring 2 elementary school children in Makilala and another 2 high school students in Matalam.

Let's help build a better future for our next generation! By becoming a sponsor to this the program, you are making a big difference in their lives. Every school year, sponsors shoulder minimal tuition and other school related fees, 2 sets of uniforms, and daily allowance for transportation and other expenses for school projects. The sponsor may also pursue support for tertiary education when the sponsored students successfully qualify to enter college.  It only takes a minimal budget to make an impact on the lives of children who have less in life.

MinLand is inviting YOU to be one of the sponsors. It only takes PhP710 a month to sponsor elementary education and Php1,000 a month for high school.
